Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin has rejected claims that the Government has handed a “blank cheque” to RTÉ as part of its multi-annual funding plan. But that wasn’t the interesting part of the press conference.

An emotional Minister emphasised that she did not find Fionnan Sheehan’s behaviour acceptable and it “wouldn’t encourage people to go into politics”
